A pre-application meeting is required for any new project that will have regional impact. This includes, but not limited to, planned developments, redevelopments, comm. developments, or hotels/motels.
-
Permit applications should be made through the City and the County. Homeowners, follow the checklist on the City’s application. Failure to submit required documentation will result in lengthy delays.
-
All plans must be submitted through County’s CitizenServe review system. Please refer to the County Website for assistance using CitizenServe, or feel free to contact the Building-Zoning Dept.
-
Plans examiners will review to ensure compliance with applicable codes and ordinances. They will provide comments or feedback on the plans submitted, and may require corrections.
-
Once the plans are resubmitted for review, the process continues to approval. The approved plans are important as they clarify what is to be done and how, ensuring everyone is on the same page.
-
Once the plans are approved, the permit application is reviewed and approved by a Planner and is then ready for issuance. Permit issuance requires payment of all fees. Please call for further details
-
Once permit has been issued, work begins. A printed copy of the approved plans should be kept on the job site through the entirety of the project, for reference by both contractors and inspectors.
-
As work progresses, final inspections will need to be scheduled and completed. Inspections should be scheduled by contacting the Building-Zoning Dept. Please Call to schedule: (386) 329-0100
